Emirates, the renowned Dubai-based airline, has unveiled plans to completely refurbish an additional 71 aircraft, further enhancing its commitment to providing passengers with an elevated in-flight travel experience. The extensive retrofit program will include another 43 Airbus A380s and 28 Boeing 777s bringing the total number of aircraft undergoing refurbishment to 191 as part of the airlines ongoing efforts to upgrade its fleet.
Initially, the airline's retrofit program aimed to refurbish 120 aircraft, comprising 67 A380s and 53 777s. However, with this latest announcement, Emirates is intensifying its investment to ensure that more of its fleet features cutting-edge cabin products and contemporary designs across all classes.
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, expressed Emirates dedication to elevating the customer experience, stating "We're topping up our multi-billion dollar investment in the retrofit program to introduce cutting-edge cabin products on more of our A380s and Boeing 777, demonstrating a clear commitment to elevating the customer experience with a best-in-class suite of products across every cabin".

So What Does The Refurbishment Include?
The refurbishment project encompasses various enhancements, including the introduction of new generation seats, updated cabin finishings, and a contemporary colour palette, all aimed at providing passengers with a consistent premium experience.
Notable features of the refurbishment plans include the debut of the all-new Business Class seats in an updated 1-2-1 seating configuration. However, what excites us, is the introduction of 24 Premium Economy seats, offering passengers enhanced premium options.
The Emirates Boeing 777 will boast a total of 332 seats across four classes, including 8 First Class suites, 40 Business Class seats, and 260 Economy Class seats. To accommodate the new Premium Economy cabin, 50 Economy seats will be removed.
Upon completion of the retrofit program, Emirates will have installed a total of 8,104 next-generation Premium Economy seats, 1,894 refreshed First Class suites, 11,182 upgraded Business Class seats and 21,814 Economy Class seats across its fleet.

Where is Emirates Refurbished Aircraft Fleet Flying Once Completed?
Emirates has already completed the refurbishment of 22 A380 aircraft, with the first Boeing 777 scheduled for interior refreshment in July. Each Boeing 777 will undergo approximately two weeks of refurbishment before re-entering service. The refurbishment work is currently being managed and executed in-house at Emirate's Engineering Centre with over 250 project personnel working round the clock. With the support of 31 major partners and suppliers setting up workshops in both the facility and offsite, these refreshed cabins are ensured to be delivered and in service for customers to enjoy and experience as soon as possible.
Passengers can look forward to experiencing the revamped aircraft on various routes serviced by Emirates, including destinations such as New York JFK, London Heathrow, Sydney, and Dubai. Additionally, the airline plans to expand Premium Economy services to 42 cities by February 2025, with the introduction of the A350s into its fleet and the rollout of newly refurbished Boeing 777s later this summer.
